Terrorists from Syria and Iraq can continue their activities in their homeland, said Kun.uz with reference to the statement of Abdusalom Azizov, Chairman of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This statement was made in the framework of the meeting of heads of the CIS special services.
According to the head of the SSS, against the background of a successful anti-terrorist campaign in Syria and Iraq, terrorist organizations will consider the option of returning to hot spots, including Afghanistan.
“Militants of international terrorist organizations are making efforts to return to their permanent place of residence, in order to continue terrorist activities,” Azizov said.
The Chairman of the SSS also pointed out to the role of labor migration in this situation.
“The influence of radical views on the citizens of our country is, by and large, due to labor migration,” – said the head of the SSS.
The participants of the meeting also noted the importance of consolidating efforts in the fight against cybercrime, in countering the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies to promote violence and radical views.
