McDonald’s has lost $4 billion because of the romance of its now ex-CEO.
Steve Easterbrook-President and CEO of fast-food chain McDonald’s was forced to leave his post because of his romance with a subordinate.
The relationship was not considered as harassment, since the head of the company is not married, and the relationship was mutual.
However, according to the company’s board of directors, Easterbrook disregarded company policy and, by entering into a romantic relationship, “demonstrated a poor ability to think sensibly.”
Easterbrook admitted his mistake and accepted the decision.
After the publication of this news the company’s shares fell nearly 3%.
Easterbrook has led the company since 2015. Thanks to him, the shares of the chain during his leadership doubled in price.
