Tajikistan suspends electricity export to Uzbekistan

Tajikistan has suspended electricity exports to Uzbekistan, Sputnik said citing the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Among the reasons for the suspension are the onset of cold weather and the need to provide for domestic needs.

Supply volumes have been gradually declining since September.

Meanwhile, an agreement with Turkmenenergo entered into force on December 1. The countries agreed to import electricity in 2019-2020.

After the entry into force of this agreement, many Facebook subscribers noticed fewer power outages.
