A 17-year-old girl was hit by a freight train in the Andijan region on February 11. The victim’s condition is assessed as serious, according to the Zet News portal.
Information about the accident was also confirmed by Uzbekistan Temir Yullari.
It is reported that the girl was hit by a train that followed the Andijan – Kokand route. The incident occurred on the Paytug-Kuyganyar stretch in the Izboskan district of Andijan region.
“The train driver has no choice, he has only one road! And car drivers and pedestrians crossing the railway always have a choice and an opportunity to wait. On the railway, the train always has an advantage! Even if it is traveling at a low speed, it may not have time to stop, since the braking distance of the rolling stock is quite long!”- the company said in a statement.
